Douglas G Blane is from an Engineering background having specialised in Computer Aided Design. He has many years of third line IT support knowledge & experience having researched, developed & implemented a corporate portal with integrated taxonomy base search engine for The Open University Business School.

Doug worked for three years as Technical Coordinator for The Open University’s Digital Audio Project looking at mainstreaming text based workflow systems into automatically producing DAISY Digital Talking Books. He produced the first DAISY Digital Talking Book within The Open University that was distributed to it’s students.

In March 2010 Doug decided to utilize his many skills and concentrate on his own business as a Consultant in the Engineering, Information & Communication Technologies (ICT), IRATA Rope Access Technician, specialist disability / accessibility Trainer & Web Developer fields. He also runs a successful professional photography business.

Doug is also specialist disability / accessibility ICT software & hardware trainer. His clients include The Open University Access Centre.

Doug has been Disclosure & Barring Services (formerly CRB) checked and holds a current Enhanced Criminal Record Certificate as required by The Open University Access Centre.

He holds a full UK driving license and is mobile as he has his own transportation.
